Khởi đầu tại Đại học Bách Khoa Hà Nội vào năm 2002, tính đến nay, anh Võ Gia Lộc đã có 20 năm kinh nghiệm hoạt động rất sâu trong lĩnh vực Robotics. Anh từng nhận bằng Tiến sĩ tại Hàn Quốc và Nghiên cứu sinh sau Tiến sĩ tại Viện Công Nghệ Quốc Gia Ý. Sau đó, anh cũng đã đạt được một số kết quả khi chuyển sang môi trường công nghiệp. Anh là người thiết kế robot Indy7, sản phẩm chính của công ty Neuromeka, Hàn Quốc – một robot cộng tác hiện đại đã được bán với số lượng lớn. Nhưng cuối cùng, anh lại quyết định quay trở về quê hương để thành lập Apicoo Robotics - một startup chuyên thiết kế và sản xuất tay kẹp robot thông minh.

Tham gia hệ sinh thái Robotics đã nhiều năm, anh Lộc nhận ra rằng tay kẹp thông minh cho robot linh hoạt thế hệ mới là một nhu cầu tất yếu. Vì vậy, Apicoo Robotics ra đời để giúp ứng dụng tay kẹp robot thông minh vào nhà máy với chi phí thấp, và đồng thời tạo nền tảng cho các ứng dụng hiện đại hơn nữa trong tương lai. Nhưng hơn hết, ý tưởng khởi nghiệp của anh Lộc đến từ khao khát được thỏa sức đam mê với thiết kế và chế tạo Robotics theo ý mình.

Với điểm mạnh của bản thân ở khâu thiết kế, anh Lộc đã lựa chọn sản phẩm tay kẹp để bắt đầu hành trình với Apicoo Robotics, trong khi đó, phần lớn khó khăn trong việc phát triển tay kẹp cũng lại xuất phát từ quá trình thiết kế. Anh tin rằng điều này sẽ tạo cho anh một ưu thế lớn so với các đối thủ cạnh tranh khác. Mặt khác, khi được hỏi về động lực khởi nghiệp, anh Lộc chia sẻ rằng, với anh, khởi nghiệp tuy là một con đường khó khăn nhưng lại là một bước tiến quan trọng ra khỏi vùng an toàn để anh tiếp tục học tập và đào sâu nghiên cứu về chuyên môn.

Vì từng là sinh viên trường Đại học Bách khoa Hà Nội, anh Lộc luôn mong muốn làm một điều gì đó để cống hiến lại cho trường. Khi biết tới Lab2Market do BK-Holdings tổ chức, anh đã quyết định gửi đơn đăng ký tham gia chương trình.
Anh Lộc cũng chia sẻ rằng bản thân đã biết tới một số chương trình trên thế giới giúp đưa sáng chế ra thị trường, nhưng tỉ lệ thành công thường không quá cao. Vì lý do này, anh cảm thấy vô cùng tò mò liệu Lab2Market tại Việt Nam có thể giải quyết được bài toán mà thế giới vẫn đang phải đối mặt.
“Với anh thì con đường này giúp anh học được rất nhiều, đó chính là động lực để anh không bỏ cuộc.”
Hiện tại, Apicoo Robotics đã nhận được những đơn hàng đầu tiên từ một số công ty sản xuất robot cộng tác, các nhà cung cấp giải pháp tự động hóa, các trường đại học, và phòng/viện nghiên cứu. Mặc dù vậy, anh Lộc vẫn khiêm tốn cho rằng bản thân chưa đạt được gì nhiều nên chưa dám nhắn nhủ điều gì tới các nhóm nghiên cứu khác cũng đang ôm ấp ước mơ khởi nghiệp. Nhưng anh hy vọng rằng khát khao học tập và phát triển bản thân sẽ ươm mầm cho các nhóm nghiên cứu can đảm để theo đuổi con đường khởi nghiệp gian nan, giống như anh.

Apicoo Robotics - Starting up to freely build Robotics | L2M Founder’s Story
Starting at Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2002, until now, Mr. Vo Gia Loc has had 20 years of extensive experience in the Robotics field. He received a PhD in Korea and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Italian National Institute of Technology. After that, he also achieved some results when moving to the industrial environment. He was the designer of the robot Indy7, the main product of the Korean company Neuromeka - a modern collaborative robot that has been sold in large quantities. But in the end, he decided to return to his homeland to found Apicoo Robotics - a startup specializing in designing and manufacturing smart robot grippers.
“I founded Apicoo Robotics to be able to build Robotics the way I want, to freely build Robotics.”
Having been in the Robotics ecosystem for many years, Mr. Loc realized that building new-generation smart grippers for flexible robots was an inevitable need. Therefore, Apicoo Robotics was born to help adopt smart robot grippers in factories at low cost, and at the same time pay the foundation for even more modern future applications. But most of all, Mr. Loc's startup idea came from the desire to fulfill his passion for designing and manufacturing Robotics in his own way.

With his own strengths in designing, Mr. Loc chose grippers as the first product to start his journey with Apicoo Robotics, while most of the difficulties in developing grippers also stem from the designing process. He believed this would give him a huge advantage over other competitors. On the other hand, when asked about his motivation for starting a business, Mr. Loc shared that, for him, startup was a strenuous path, but it was also an important step out of the comfort zone for him to continue studying in-depth professional knowledge.

Since he was an alumnus of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Mr. Loc has always wanted to do something to contribute back to the school. When he heard about Lab2Market organized by BK-Holdings, he decided to submit his application to participate in the program.
Mr. Loc also shared that he had known of a number of programs around the world aiming to help bring inventions to the market, but the success rate was usually not so high. For this reason, he felt extremely curious about how Lab2Market in Vietnam could solve the problem that the world was still facing.
"For me, this path helps me learn a lot, and that has been the motivation for me not to give up."
Currently, Apicoo Robotics has received the first orders from a number of collaborative robot companies, automation solution providers, universities, and research laboratories/institutions. However, Mr. Loc still humbly believed that he had not achieved much, so he did not dare to say anything to other research groups who are also embracing the dream of starting up. But he hoped that the thirst for learning and self-development would fill those research teams with the courage to pursue the arduous path of entrepreneurship, just like him.
